Rena Tucker September 23, 1923 – November 7, 2020

Rena Tucker of Cotton Plant passed away at Wood Lawn Nursing Home at Batesville at the age of 97. She was the widow of Earnest Tucker. Rena was born in Newport to Fred Campbell and Pennie Murray-Campbell.

Rena was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church-James Addition in Cotton Plant, and a longtime member of the church’s Usher Board. She was a housewife and homemaker for her family. Around her community she would be known as “The Mother of Wisdom.”

Her parents; her husband; and three sons, George Bynum Sr., Bobby Bynum and David Tucker; three brothers, Charlie Campbell, Lester Campbell and Earnest Campbell; and two sisters, Bertha Ann Carter and Ethel Davis, all preceded her in death. Survivors are four sons, Jimmy E. (Lucille) Tucker, of Shawnee Mission, KS, Rickie (Sandra) Tucker, of Kansas City, MO, Tommy (Angie) Tucker, of Lacey, WA,, and Dr. Thomas S. (Janae) Tucker, of Cleveland, OH; five daughters, Bennie Davis and Ruby Tucker, both of Kansas City, KS, Earnestine Tucker and Gwenda Faye (Harold) McGahee, both of Cotton Plant, and Mattie Jones, of Helena; a sister-in-law, Annie Campbell, of Kansas City, KS; a dear cousin, Aldora Durham; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services November 14 at Branscumb Funeral Home Chapel in Brinkley with Revered George Bynum Jr. officiating. Interment was at Ebenezer Cemetery in Cotton Plant by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
