Eddie Hill Sr. November 27, 1944 – November 22, 2020

Eddie Hill Sr. of Brinkley passed away at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith at the age of 75. He was the widower of Ivory Crawford-Hill. Eddie was born in Brinkley to Edward and Gertrude Hill. He was the only child born to this union.

Eddie received his formal education from the Brinkley Public School System, and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Brinkley. While he was a resident of Chicago, he and his wife attended Mount Vernon Baptist Church until they returned to Arkansas. He was an employee of Riviana Food in Brinkley for more than 11 years before he retired in 2011. He was a former employee of Rock 10 Industries in Chicago, Illinois for more than 35 years before they closed their doors. He and his family then returned to Arkansas in 1998.

His parents; and his wife, Ivory, preceded him in death. Survivors are a son, Eddie (Patricia) Hill Jr., of Tampa, FL; two daughters, Iris (Kraig Stratford) Hill, of Brownsville, TX, and Vanice (Raymond) Vance, of Little Rock; nine grandchildren, Mario Oliver, Noria’ Stratford and Kaci Stratford, all of Brownsville, TX, Eddie J. Hill and Evan Hill, both of Atlanta, GA, Gabriella Hill and Mateo Hill, both of Tampa, FL, and Christopher Vance and Courtney Vance, both of Little Rock; extended family, Randy (Sandy) Randle, of Chicago, Ill; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were November 24 at Garrett Grove Cemetery in Moro with Elder Troy Whitman officiating. Arrangements were by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
