SPECIAL TRIBUTE SECTION FOR CHARLIE WALLACE IS 4/9/21

March 30, 2021

The Monroe County Herald will feature a special section next in next week’s edition (April 9) that will be a “Tribute to our Bicycle Charlie”, that will benefit a Memorial Fund being set up for Charlie Wallace, long-time paper boy, all-around helper and one of Brinkley’s most loved people.

We hope to fill the section with memories and sentiments from all those who knew and loved this bicycle-riding cowboy! We know he had lots of friends in the community and we know they’ll miss him as much as we do! He was one of our town’s beloved characters and we hope to help raise funds to place a memorial to him somewhere downtown - a statue of Charlie on his bicycle with a basket full of newspapers. We can’t think of a more fitting way to honor his memory.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The proceeds we raise from the ads in this edition will be donated to the Charlie Wallace Memorial Fund. If you’d like to have your personal message or a larger ad in the section, contact our office at 870-589-5055 or email monroecountyherald@gmail.com or contact Emily Johnson at 501-940-6577.

ALL ADS MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE BY TUESDAY, APRIL 6! Any photos you want included and all ad copy is due by Tuesday, April 6 at noon. Checks should be made to the Monroe County Herald - we will be sure to get all the proceeds to the right account.

Ad Sizes and Prices are:

Personal Message - $10

(35 words or less/no photos)

2 x 5 ad - $75

3 x 6 ad - $150

The GIA Foundation Charlie Wallace Memorial Bike Ride will be held on Saturday, April 10. Some of the riders will have this edition to sell. All proceeds from those sales will also go towards Charlie’s Memorial Fund.

Help us celebrate the life of this man who touched so many lives in our community. Help make his Memorial become a reality!
