Gladys Skinner, February 9, 1933 – February 10, 2022

Gladys Skinner departed passed away in Brinkley at the age of 89. She was born in Keevil to Travis and Maggie Brann. She was the fourth of nine children of Travis and Maggie Brann and loved growing up with her large family and helping on the farm.

Gladys married her husband of 64 years, Joseph Benjamine Skinner on July 9, 1949. They had three children, Ronnie Skinner, Gary Skinner, and Cheri Skinner. Gladys was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Gladys was a dedicated homemaker and loved working in the yard. In 1989, Gladys went to work outside the home as secretary for Monroe County Judge Tom Catlett, where she remained until she retired in 2003. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brinkley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Skinner; her daughter-in-law, Debra Skinner; three sisters, Mildred McGraw, Patsy Willis, and Mamie Glover; two brothers, Roy Brann and Lloyd Rogers. She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Skinner, Gary Skinner and wife, Lorrie, and one daughter, Cheri Skinner, all of Brinkley; 5 grandchildren, Rachel Clifton (Butch), Jake Skinner (Jennifer), Kasey Wurtz (Will), Lindsie Taylor and Luke Temple; and 5 great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Clifton, Sam Skinner, Berghan, Baehr Taylor and Badgely Taylor.

Graveside services were Saturday, February 12, at Oaklawn Cemetery. Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home provided the arrangements.
