Jerry Lee Maloy

Jerry Lee Maloy, 81, of Brinkley, passed away with his family by his side at St. Vincent Hospital in Sherwood on January 30, 2024.

He began life’s journey on January 5, 1943 in Brinkley, Arkansas, where he was born and raised. Jerry was the son of the late Andrew Elby Maloy and Bessie Lucille Nowlin, and also the step-son of the late J.V. Nowlin.

Jerry married the love of his life, Jo Ann Mullinax Maloy, on October 8, 1960. In their 63 years of marriage, they shared four beautiful daughters and a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Jerry loved his family unconditionally and was extremely proud to walk by Jo Ann’s side. Together, they owned the local Corner Grocery. They sold not only groceries but also gear for hunting and fishing, which were two of Jerry’s favorite hobbies.

He enjoyed sharing stories with others, whether it be about his hunting and fishing adventures, his latest jokes, or how excited he was about an upcoming Kansas City Chiefs game. His laughter and stories would bring a smile to all that listened. He also enjoyed watching westerns, working in his yard, and grilling his famous burgers for family get-togethers.

Jerry was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Brinkley, where he shared his love for the Lord with family and friends. Jerry and Jo Ann shared a beautiful day for others to remember by being baptized together and proclaiming their faith and love for the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful baby girl, Jodi Annette Maloy; his father, Andrew Elby Maloy; his mother, Bessie Lucille Nowlin; his stepfather, J.V. Nowlin; and his brother, James “Buck” Nowlin. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Jo Ann Maloy; his daughters, Jacqueline Marie (Dewayne) Woodward, and Jeri Lynn (W.C.) Quinn of Brinkley, and Jana Dashae (David) Lee of Wheatley; his grandchildren, Dustin Brann, Morgan Henard, Dailon Quinn (Brandon) Jenkins, Dace Lee, and Davia Lee; one great-granddaughter, Annsley Brann; his brother, Andrew Maloy of Stuttgart; his sisters, Paula (Russ) Parker of West Memphis, Marsha (Willard) Helmick of Prairie Grove, and Sandra (Phil) Miley of Farmington; and a host of family and friends.

To honor Jerry’s wishes, his loved ones will have a celebration of his life with immediate family only.
