Tyrell Andre’ Starr August 10, 1978 - February 23, 2020

Tyrell Starr, of Holly Grove, died at his home, at the age of 41. Tyrell was born in Stuttgart to Curtis Starr and Velma Strong.
Tyrell was as lifelong member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Grove. He attended the Holly Grove Public School System and was a 1996 graduate of Holly Grove High School.
“Lil Dog” as he was affectionately known, was employed with Larry Porter Seed Company in Roe for 2 and a half years before his passing.
His maternal and paternal grandparents: Willie Mae Strong, Henry Strong, Evelina Starr, Elmer Knowles, Claude Cartwright and Eula Lee Cartwright, all preceded Tyrell in death. Survivors are: two daughters: Jamalyah Hampton, of Conway; and Ahmiah Starr, of Holly Grove; his mother, Velma J. Strong, of Holly Grove; two brothers: Martess Starr, of Holly Grove and Curtis Starr Jr., of Hagerstown, MD; two sisters: Shakela (Samuel) McDonald, of Crowley, TX, and Sharhonda Starr, of Dallas, TX; and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on March 7 at the Clarendon/Holly Grove High School Auditorium in Clarendon, with Reverend Reggie Rose officiating. Interment took place at Hayes Cemetery in Holly Grove by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
